Eighteenth Century England by Dorothy Marshall. Hardback. 1st Edition. Longmans. London,1962.

Description:  "This is essentially a narrative history of England and events are related on chronological order, though two introductory chapters give an outline of the structure of government and of social and economic life, and a later chapter summarizes the social, economic and religious state of England on the eve of the Seven Years War and the accession of George III. Important aspects are given special attention within the narrative - for instance the controversial first decade of George III's reign and the origins of the handling of the American War of Independence - but each topic assigned to its proper place in the narrative. The result is a rounded picture of a very complex period in which due weight is given both to impersonal factors such as trade and to the influence of men like Walpole, Newcastle and Chatham.

Condition: Hardback. Dark blue boards with gold coloured writing. Owner inscription inside. Pages very good and clean. Dustjacket good but has a tear.
