Martha Beatrice Webb was an English sociologist, economist, socialist, labour historian and social reformer, who coined the term "collective bargaining". She was among the founders of the London School of Economics and played a crucial role in forming the Fabian Society.

Author Kitty Muggeridge was Beatrice Webb's niece. She openly disagreed with her aunt about her stance on the Soviet Union in the 1930's. Kitty was a journalist for the Manchester Guardian.


Author Ruth Adam was an English journalist and writer of novels, comics and non-fiction feminist literature.
